Gonzalo Higuain, Sami Khedira, Diego Perotti, Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah score for Juventus and Roma
Gonzalo Higuain, Sami Khedira, Diego Perotti, Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah score as Italian big guns Juventus and Roma get off to winning starts.
Higuain scored the winning goal on his debut for the reigning Serie A champions when they beat Fiorentina 2-1.
The Argentine striker moved from Napoli in July for a whopping £75.3 million.
Sami Khedira opened the scoring in the first half before ex-Blackburn player Nikola Kalinic equalised in the 70th minute.
It only took five minutes before Higuain got the winner – last season he scored 36 league goals for his old team.
One of the other title contenders Roma enjoyed a very comfortable 4-0 win against Udinese.
Diego Perotti scored twice and then two late goals from Edin Dzeko and Mohammed Salah gave the team from the capital an excellent warm-up for their Champions League second leg play-off on Tuesday at home to Porto.
Later today Milan host Torino at 5pm and then the rest of the games kick off at 7.45pm with Pescara versus Napoli being live on BT Sport 1.
Last season’s surprise package Sassuolo travel to Sicily to play Palermo and promoted side Cortone are away to Bologna.
Cagliari are back in Serie A and travel to Genoa to get their campaign started.
