Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Nolito have Manchester City on fire
Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as well as missing two penalties as Manchester City hammered Steaua Bucharest in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying play-off.
At 0-0 Aguero missed his first spot kick when the keeper saved and then after David Silva’s opener he blasted the second over the bar.
It wasn’t long before he made up for his misses when he made it 2-0 with a delicately rolled shot from just outside the area.
Summer signing Nolito made it three and then Aguero got his second before completing his treble with an excellent individual goal.
New boy Nolito looked very sharp and as well as scoring he also hit the woodwork twice.
Willy Cabellero was once again between the sticks, with Joe Hart having to settle for a place on the bench, with the Argentine having a quiet game having only to make one early save.
A point of interest has been Raheem Sterling’s performances in the first two games – he looks sharp, full of confidence and like the player that City paid £49 million for last summer.
Pep Guardiola’s team now face Stoke away on Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off then it’s the return leg against Steaua followed by West Ham at home before the transfer window closes.
You can get 13s on Manchester City to go all the way and win the Champions League – alternatively you can get 25s on them to have European glory and to win the Premier League.
