Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez are Arsene Wenger’s missing links
On Tuesday Arsenal confirmed the signing of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
The central defender, 24, signed for Arsene Wenger’s after the Frenchman has spent most of the summer chasing him!
Earlier in the day the signing of Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna was confirmed.
Both signings strengthen Arsenal in positions where they have struggled in recent years.
It has turned out to be a busy summer for the Gunners with Mustafi becoming the London club’s sixth summer signing.
He follows Granit Xhaka, Rob Holding, Takuma Asano and Kelechi Nwakali.
A pleased Wenger told the club’s official website. “He is at the right age, he has good experience.
“He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future.”
One man to leave is Calum Chambers who has joined Middlesbrough on loan.
- John Terry to leave Chelsea at the end of the season
- Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s home-grown talent but he must make the most of his limited chances
- Pep Guardiola needs to overhaul Manchester City’s defence with John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala not living up to their price tag
- Rudy Gestede has joined Middlesbrough
