Saido Berahino saga continues
West Bromwich Albion were set to sign West Ham’s Diafra Sakho after agreeing a a £15m deal for the Senegal International but it fell through!
This could have seen the long saga of Saido Berahino versus his club come to an end – it’s understood that the Baggies are waiting to find a suitable replacement before considering offers of the young striker.
New blood could signal his exit but it has been reported that he might just run down the rest of his contract and leave next summer once it expires.
Stoke and Crystal Palace both had bids worth £20m rejected recently for the 22-year-old and with news of this development they could make another move for former England U21 international.
Berahino burst onto the scene in 2014-15 when he scored 20 goal but last season was not good for the striker who only scored four times in the league.
Over the last 12 months he has been constantly linked with a move away from the Baggies and after Tottenham had a transfer deadline bid rejected in 2015 the striker controversially took to Twitter and posted:
“Sad how i can’t say exactly how the club has treated me but i can officially say i will never play Jeremy Peace.”
As we know he has since played but he is clearly is still unhappy and wants to move on.
In the last window his team once again rejected a bid for the striker when Newcastle offered £23m.
Ironically the reason Crystal Palace are looking for a new striker is because they need extra striking options after selling Dwight Gayle to Newcastle for £10m.
