Everton have continued their summer spending with the signing of Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace for an initial fee of £22.5 million.

It is understood that the fee could rise to £28 million with add-ons.

Whilst Bolasie did feature in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to West Brom it was felt that he looked like a player wanting to leave.

He told Everton’s official website: “I’m looking forward to putting on the Everton shirt. This is a big club and I know all about it from having played against them over the years.

“It’s not about the money for me. It’s about looking at the ambition of the club and where they are trying to get to. I just like to play football.”

For a long time the Toffees have been a selling club but since Farhad Moshiri’s investment the club have now made four key signings and could have the financial power to hold onto their best players.

Their other three big purchases have been goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham, Aston Villa’s Idrussa Gueye and Ashley Williams.

To continue the club’s development Ronald Koeman needs to keep Romelu Lukaku happy – if the Belgian stays then it will mean the goals will come!

Bolasie’s first match could well be against West Brom on Saturday – he will be hoping for a better display and result this time!

After that they have two homes games against Yeovil in the cup and then they host Stoke just before the transfer window closes.
